Patrick Analo Akivaga is a Kenyan public servant currently serving as the Chief Officer for Urban Development and Planning in Nairobi County.
As Chief Officer for Urban Development and Planning, Analo oversees key aspects of Nairobi’s physical development, including land-use planning, enforcement of planning regulations, and the management of development approvals.

Patrick Analo Early Life and Education Background
Analo was born and brought up in Sabatia Sub-County, Vihiga County, where Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi also hails from.
Patrick holds a master’s degree in urban management from the University of Nairobi, which he pursued between 2009 and 2011.
In addition to his master’s degree, Analo has undertaken studies at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, Makerere University, and Maseno University.

Career Background
In 2022, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja nominated Analo, along with three others, for vetting by the County Assembly’s Sectoral Committee on Planning and Housing and for subsequent consideration for appointment as Chief Officers, which led to his appointment.
Later in 2023, Sakaja appointed him as the County’s Secretary after Members of County Assembly (MCAs) rejected Jairus Musumba.
His appointment made him responsible for coordinating the business of the County Executive Committee and keeping its minutes, subject to the committee’s directions.
Additionally, his role involved conveying the decisions of the County Executive Committee to the appropriate persons and authorities for implementation.
However, the High Court temporarily halted the County Assembly’s removal and replacement of Nairobi’s acting county secretary, Jairus Musumba.
Previously, Analo worked under former Governors Mike Sonko and Ann Kananu as Deputy Director for Urban Development and Planning, overseeing planning and development functions within the city county administration.

According to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), County Chief Officers in Job Group S/T are entitled to a gross monthly salary ranging from KSh217,070 to KSh283,010.
