In May 2024, she took a firm stand against the misuse of stimulants within her constituency by calling for the outright ban of muguka and the stricter regulation of miraa.
She cited the negative impact these substances have on the youth, who she described as resembling “zombies,” unable to find employment due to excessive chewing of these substances.
While she acknowledged that miraa remains a protected cash crop under Kenyan law, she urged the government to impose time-of-sale regulations and restrict who may purchase it.
In April 2025, she publicly challenged the Finance Ministry regarding disbursements from the National Gender and Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), highlighting that funds intended for women’s groups were inexplicably withheld.
