Shakeel Ahmed is a Kenyan politician representing Kisumu East Constituency in the National Assembly since 2007.
He represents Kisumu East Constituency under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and he has served for 4 consecutive terms.

Educational background
Shakeel Ahmed went to the Nairobi School, where he graduated in 1971.
Shakeel Ahmed then moved to Makerere University in Uganda but left after only one year’s studies to join Middlesex Polytechnic in London, where he earned a Diploma in Accountancy.
He later pursued a bachelor’s degree in business studies at the same institution.
Shakeel Ahmed received the Master of Business Administration from Henley Management College and later pursued a master’s in political science at Maseno University.
Career life of Shakeel Ahmed
In 1984, Shakeel Ahmed was employed at Diamond Trust of Kenya Limited in Kisumu as a Senior Manager till 1991.
From 1991 to 1993, still at Diamond Trust of Kenya Limited, he again worked as a Senior Manager.
Since 1994, he has worked at SSA Associates as a Managing Partner.
From 1994, he worked at Quality Rebuilt Tractors Limited as a Managing Director.
Between July 2000 and 2002, he joined the Kisumu Municipal Council as a Nominated Councillor.
Later in January 2004 till July 2004, still at Kisumu Municipal Council, he was the mayor.
Additionally, from 2008 to January 2013, he joined the Kenya National Assembly as a Member of Parliament in Kisumu Town East.
Since March 2013, he has been elected and has served in the Kenya National Assembly as a Member of Parliament for Kisumu Town East.
