The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) has published a list of medical and dental practitioners in accordance with Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act (CAP 253).
In a statement on July 2, KMPDC announced additional details on where to find more.
“KMPDC has published a list of all licensed medical, dental practitioners and health facilities in the country,” the statement read.
In addition, KMPDC revealed that the list has been shared with the Social Health Authority (SHA) for consideration of empanelment.
Likewise, it advised the members of the public to seek health services from practitioners and health facilities that are duly registered and licensed by KMPDC.

KMPDC License Requirements
The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council is mandated to regulate the training and practice of medicine, dentistry and community oral health within the Republic of Kenya. The Council is also mandated by CAP 253 to regulate health facilities within the country.
Section 22 (1) of the CAP 253 states that a person practicing as a medical or dental practitioner without being duly licensed commits an offence and shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding five million shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.
Further, CAP 253 also states that a person who uses a premise as a health institution which premises is not licensed as a health institution commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding ten million shillings or imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to both.

List of Doctors, Hospitals & Clinics
A total of 492 oral health officers have been licensed by the council. To access the list, click on KMPDC.
Additionally, the government has published a list of 743 licensed foreign practitioners for the year 2024, which can be accessed through the KMPDC portal using this link KMPDC.
