Kenyan musician Idd Aziz has emerged as the most internationally streamed artist from Kenya in the first half of 2025, according to Spotify’s newly released Global Impact List.
The list, unveiled on Thursday, July 17, ranks the top 25 Kenyan songs with the highest international streams from January to June.
Aziz secured the top spot with Time (Mimi), a cross-border collaboration with Germany-based artist Dhali.
The vocalist also appears multiple times on the chart with other genre-blending tracks, including Mentuliza featuring Anthony Keyrouz and Sleiman Damien, and Penda with JimmX.
Spotify Celebrates Kenyan Sound
Spotify highlighted Aziz’s music as a blend of Afrohouse, Swahili rhythms, and spiritual tones.
“Aziz’s music is being danced to in Berlin nightclubs, Bali beach lounges, and Lisbon’s late-night radio shows,” the Spotify platform noted
They illustrated the widespread global appeal of his sound, and additionally, Spotify described the trend as a natural evolution.
“What’s unfolding is organic but powerful, Kenyan artists are connecting with listeners around the world through streaming and creative collaboration,” they stated.
Bien, Njerae, Savara Among Top Artists
Other prominent Kenyan artists on the list include Bien, formerly of Sauti Sol, who features on the chart with four songs: All I Need, Down For You, All I Need (Remix), and Safari.

His collaborations with international acts such as Rammor, Darassa, and African Lofi continue to reinforce his global reach.
Njerae’s Beg for It stands out as the only solo female track on the list. Spotify recognised her emotional delivery and rising influence, having named her the EQUAL Artist for June 2025.
Savara’s track Sianda also cut, performing well in regions with a significant Kenyan diaspora. Other featured acts include Wakadinali, Kato Change, Karun, and Afro Lofi Guy, showcasing Kenya’s diverse music genres from afro-fusion to gengetone and alt-R&B.
