Ladies have taken to the streets of the blue bird app to defend Karen Nyamu. This is after the nominated senator was kicked out by the senate speaker on the 14th of February over indecent dressing.
Karen stepped into the 4th Senate on Tuesday, February 14, which had resumed its sittings after the long recess, in a long and elegant kitenge skirt, with a black sleeveless top, which exposed her arms. The Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, after reading out the House rules on dress code, Kingi asked Nyamu to leave the chambers and only return when she was appropriately dressed.

Twitter user @Keerulanah, did not agree with the Speakers decision and she expressed her opinion through her twitter handle in a tweet that read:
“If this is not decent dressing, then I don’t know what’s to be decently dressed. Karen Nyamu is decently dressed. Well, my opinion.”
Her tweet elicited mixed reactions, with some seconding the speakers move, others deeming it a chauvinistic approach and asking the speaker to extend the same treatment to Senator Ledama Ole Kina, who dons the traditional Maasai regalia to the senate. The Tweet garnered over four hundred replies from both ladies and gentlemen.
