Movie star and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger was on January, 18 detained at Munich Airport for several hours over an unregistered luxury watch.
According to reports by BILD, the actor was stopped by customs agents for a “suspicion-free” bag check, which is when the luxury watch was discovered.
The 76-year-old actor was on his way to the World Climate Summit in Kitzbuhel with the watch that he reportedly said is worth 20,000 euros (Ksh3.5million)
He further revealed details of his luxury watch notig that it was poduced by Swiss manufacturer Audemars Piguet especially for his private collection.
“This is the problem that Germany is suffering from. You can no longer see the forest for the trees,” Schwarzenegger told BILD.
He further explained that he was still fined 35,000 euros (Ksh6.1M), half of which had to be paid in cash despite informing the customs officials that the watch was being auctioned off.
Payment of Fine
Similarly, reports noted that Schwarzenegger was detained for three hours and had to be taken to a nearby bank so he could withdraw cash to settle the fine.
When the ATM didn’t have enough funds, a working credit card machine was brought in by an airport officer.

Schwarenegger’s spokesperson Daniel Ketchell while addressing the issue noted that lawyers are dealing with the matter and that they do not expect any issues.
“Arnold always pays his taxes,” he added.
Schwarzenegger in the Film Industry
Schwarzenegger began his acting career primarily with small roles in film and television in the year 1969.
For his first film role, he was credited as “Arnold Strong”, but was credited with his birth name thereafter.

Arnold Schwarzenegger vied for governorship of California in a recall election in the year 2003.
He was subsequently elected when the previous governor Gray Davis was recalled, and Schwarzenegger placed first among replacement candidates.
Therefore, he served the remainder of Davis’ incomplete term between 2003 and 2007.
The movie star was later on re-elected to a second term in 2006, serving out this full term and leaving office in January 2011.
Unfortunately, Arnol Schwarzeneger was unable to run for a third term due to term limits imposed by the Constitution of California.

Nonetheless, Schwarzenegger has received several awards and nominations for his tremendous and impressive work in the film industry.
In Stay Hungry, one of his the first films he featured in, Arnold won a Golden Globe Award for Best Acting Debut in a Motion Picture.
He has also been nominated for various awards for his roles in Terminator, Judgment Day, Junior, and True Lies.
His prowess and ability to deliver in both action and comedy filsm has earned him a lot of praise and fan base.
