Veteran radio presenter Conrad Gray, popularly known as G-Money, has announced his resignation from Homeboyz Radio after a 17-year stint.
Gray hosted the popular morning show “G-Money in the Morning,” which was later rebranded as “The Power Up.”
In a farewell post on X, Gray expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives during the recent protests against the Finance Bill 2024.
He emphasized that this moment is not about his own departure, but rather about honoring those who will never have the chance to say goodbye to their loved ones due to the tragic loss of life.
“This moment isn’t about me saying goodbye, it’s about those who won’t a chance to say “goodbye” as their lives have been snuffed out before they truly have even had a chance to live,” he said.

G-money Expresses Gratitude to Fans
Gray took the opportunity to thank all those who have tuned in to his show over the years, acknowledging that it served as a platform for many young people to develop their skills and pursue their dreams.
“As I exit the radio scene. I want to thank everyone who’s ever tuned in to the show. It’s a place where many young people have had an opportunity to spread their wings and fly.”
He acknowledged the heavy and somber backdrop of his resignation, stating that he is saddened by the events that have unfolded in the country.

“I’m happy to be leaving but saddened by the backdrop of this moment. To everyone, those who are mourning loss and to everyone else truly sickened by what we’ve seen. I express my heartfelt condolences. Those were our kids. They should have been here.”
In a message of hope and resilience, Gray stated that God was watching over those who stand up for their beliefs and that no crime goes unpunished.
“God isn’t sleeping and the perpetrators will have to face their own Waterloo. History has shown us this. No crime goes unpunished.”
He concluded his farewell message by wishing God’s blessings upon the nation of Kenya.
G-Money’s Career in the Music & Broadcasting Industry
Apart from being a radio presenter, Gray is also a seasoned DJ. His journey in the music and broadcasting industry began in his youthful days, where he was exposed to diverse genres in both London and Jamaica shaping his unique taste in music.
He gained early experience in the industry by establishing the influential pirate radio station Bassline FM in South London in the mid-1990s.
Gray’s skills as a broadcaster were further honed during his time at the BBC, where he covered a wide range of events and established himself as a versatile and skilled on-air personality.
G-Money Relocates to Kenya
In 2002, Gray’s career path led him to Kenya, where he become a fixture on the Homeboyz Radio 103.5 FM breakfast show.
During his tenure at Homeboyz Radio, Gray has been instrumental in cultivating a thriving dancehall industry in the country, bringing in renowned artists such as Beenie Man, Alaine, and Konshens to perform.

Through his club nights and concerts organized with Homeboyz Entertainment, Gray has cemented his status as the “Dancehall Ambassador” in East Africa.
