Radio presenter Shaq the Youngin, has officially resigned from NRG Radio after dedicating six years to the station.
Making the announcement on his Instagram account, the renowned presenter expressed gratitude to the management for the opportunity and bid farewell to his colleagues and loyal fans who have tuned in over the past six years.
“After 6 years working at NRG Radio, I hereby announce my resignation from the company. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by the management,” stated Shaq on his Instagram.
Shaq expressed his excitement for the next chapter in his career and asked for continued support from his audience.
“As I look forward to the next step in my career, I hope and pray for new opportunities that will come my way and ask for your support.”
In the post’s accompanying caption, Shaq acknowledged the difficulty of his decision, stating, “Crazy I know… New vibes Hardest choice that I’ve been thinking of making for a minute but yeah, I’m gonna miss y’all on this side!”
Shaq Expresses Gratitude to Fans
He went on to thank all who had been part of his journey, saying, “God bless all who were part of the journey, when you have a shark in a fishbowl it’s gonna break it one day.”

The media personality however opted not to disclose his next destination noting that he had decided to “say less”.
“I thought I knew what my caption was gonna be but I’m tryna say less, cheers to a good 6 years we outside, on to the next one.”

Shaq’s media career
Shaq’s journey in the media industry began before his stint at NRG Radio.
He co-hosted the show YOLO and was also a member of the USIU Radio team while in college.
His departure from NRG Radio marks a significant milestone in his career, and his fans eagerly await his next venture.
Mwalimu Rachel Leaves NRG Radio
Shaq’s resignation comes just two months after two major presenters Mwalimu Rachel and DJ Xclusive left the station.
“The time has come for me to say goodbye to NRG Radio, but I shall return to the airwaves soon, God willing,” said Mwalimu Rachel in her statement.

“Indeed, it is true that I have resigned from NRG radio. It has been an incredible journey of 6 years and I’m grateful for my time there.”
The duo left the Westlands-based station in March after also serving for 6 years where they hosted an evening show dubbed NRG Transit.
Mwalimu Rachel quit and moved to Kiss FM and was later joined by DJ Xclusive where they now co-host the drive show.
