Mapangale, a viral dance coined by Kenyan reggae music MC Zendiambo Curedeh has gone viral on social media. Fans are now doing the “Mapangale” dance challenge.
MC Zendiambo has also created other viral dances and phrases such as “kudonjo”, “kumalo”, “kudunda”, “one legeh”, “two legeh” and more. He is the entertainment lead at Mbogi Nare.
“Hii ndio inadonjo sasa,” a fan commented referring to the “Mapangale” trend as one that is dominating the air.
The dance incorporates a stuttering motion, imitating the action of swinging a machete across the neck and head.
Kenyans on social media platforms are replicating the dance trend, but some have also criticized it, noting that it appears inhumane.

Zendiambo Fans React
The new dance has sparked heightened reactions online. The MC in a video shared on YouTube said: “We have introduced another new dance mapangala, mapangasha, mapangale. Make sure you have it.”
Social media platforms, particularly TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, are overflowing with videos of people attempting the dance, turning it into a viral sensation.
Additionally, the dance has gained massive recognition among revellers and partygoers, significantly in nightclubs where Zendiambo does live performances.
While other netizens enjoyed the dance, some have raised crucial concerns that the routine promotes violence. Consequently, a few individuals have even gone ahead to call for his arrest.

However, following the reactions- Zendiambo clarified the claims through a sound system company under the name Mbogi Nare, saying that the dance is meant for entertainment purposes only.

Zendiambo’s Stint in the Entertainment
Zendiambo’s journey in the entrainment industry has been a slow and gradual process. He has taken much long to ascend to the current standing in the industry.
In past interviews, Zendiabo disclosed that he commenced his journey almost 10 years ago under reggae presenter Mbusi after which he joined other labels like Agogo family and Junior Dread.
Presently, he owns an entertainment company. In addition, he runs a business where he sells branded T-shirts.
