The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice on Tuesday, October 15, announced internship opportunities for Kenya School of Law (KSL) students.
In a statement issued by the Solicitor General, Shadrack Mose, the Office said it will absorb 70 students to undertake a pupillage programme for six months.
“The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice is one of the Institutions set out in section 14 of the Advocates Act, CAP. 16 and the Kenya School of Law Pupillage Guidelines 2023, as an Institution in which students at the Kenya School of Law may undertake their Pupilage Programme for a period of six (6) months,” the Solicitor General announced.
The Office seeks to recruit seventy (70) highly motivated Kenyans to undertake Pupillage Programme for a period of six (6) months commencing January 2025.
Attorney General Office outlines requirements for candidates
At the same time, the Ministry highlighted qualifications and requirements candidates are supposed to possess at the time of the application which include:
1. A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognized University
2. A copy of the National Identity Card
3. Letter from Kenya School of Law recommending commencement of pupillage
4.Copies of Academic Certificates and Testimonials
Besides requirements and qualifications, applicants are required to have a good demonstration of verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.

Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a proactive attitude and willingness to learn and to be part of a team handling challenging assignments within timelines and be computer literate.
Further directions issued by AG’s office on the application
Further, the Office directed interested and qualified persons to download and fill the pupillage application form.
Once through with the application, candidates were advised to email their complete application form to [email protected] on or before October 24, 2024.

The Office further clarified that candidates should NOT attach any documents to the application form. ALL the details requested in the advertisement should be filled on the form.
Only shortlisted and successful candidates will be contacted. The shortlisted candidates will be required to produce originals of their National Identity Card, academic certificates and letter from Kenya School of Law recommending them to start pupillage during interviews.
