Founded in 1970 as the Institute of Medicine (IOM), the National Academy of Medicine is one of three Academies that make up the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (the National Academies) in the United States.
Operating under the 1863 Congressional charter of the National Academy of Sciences, NAMs are private, nonprofit institutions that work outside of government to provide objective advice on matters of science, technology, and health.

The party was attended by influential scholars, among other guests, who the COTU Secretary General noted had played an integral part in shaping his son’s destiny.
With the latest achievement, Prof. Lukoye Atwoli has established himself as an accomplished scholar and a prominent specialist in health matters despite his relatively young age.
His academic credentials speak for themselves, having graduated with top degrees from reputable institutions.
Between 1995 and 2001, Lukoye attended Moi University in Eldoret where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in medicine.
During his time at the university, the young Atwoli also grew his influence, taking part in activities including students’ union leadership and several clubs and societies.
