Azimio Counties lead in the list of counties that have performed dismally in revenue allocation for the financial year July 2023 to June 2024 according to the latest report by the Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o.

The report, which was published in August 2024, highlights some of the counties that have collected little revenue for that financial year.

Among the counties that were mentioned by Nyakang’o for least revenue collection are Nyandarua at 42.1 percent, Machakos at 46.5 percent, Mandera at 50.8 percent, Nyamira at 53.8 percent, Bungoma at 55.8 percent, Kajiado at 56.1 percent, and Busia at 56.9 of annual targets.

From the above list, the Azimio counties that performed poorly in their own source revenue collection are Nyamira, Machakos, Busia, and Kajiado.

The ten counties include Turkana at 241.2 percent, Vihiga at 136.3 percent, Kirinyaga at 118.4 percent, Lamu at 116.2 percent, Nandi at 113 percent, Wajir at 110 percent, Garissa at 108.2 percent, Nyeri at 106.1 percent, Samburu at 104.1 percent, and Murang’a at 100.2 percent.
