IEBC Further Directives
IEBC stated that upon the conclusion of the ECVR exercise on April 28, 2026, it will revert to the standard office-based Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) system.
However, the Commission has cautioned that the constituency-based CVR model often presents access challenges, particularly for citizens in marginalized and hard-to-reach areas, as well as Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Hence, the electoral Commission has advised Kenyans to take advantage of the ongoing ECVR which has provided a critical window for more accessible voter registration services.

IEBC clarified that, with the exception of kits stationed at constituency offices, all voter registration kits are open for use by Kenyans registering to their preferred electoral areas.
The commission further stated that eligible citizens do not need to travel to their home constituencies in order to register as voters.
Instead, they are encouraged to visit any nearby registration centre, where IEBC officials will guide and assist them through the registration process.

ECVR Exercise Coming to a Close
With only 11 days remaining to the close of the exercise, the Commission has urged all eligible Kenyans who are yet to register to take advantage of the opportunity and participate in building an inclusive and representative voter register ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The electoral body has stressed that the upcoming polls will be a defining moment for the country and reiterated its commitment to a transparent, credible, and high-integrity electoral process.
The Commission further stated that it has expanded its reach to the ward level to ensure broader access and safeguard the integrity of the voters’ register.
Existing registered voters have also been encouraged to verify and confirm their details through the Commission’s official online portal at [email protected].
