President William Ruto‘s daughter Charlene Ruto was deeply moved and visibly emotional, after meeting victims of anti-government protests.
Charlene while taking to her X account said it was time to reflect and heal as a nation as we search for our deepest postures of patriotism, forgiveness and integrated as one people.
“It was a very emotional day visiting some young people and members of the public who found themselves as unfortunate victims of the chaos that surfaced in recent days,” she said.
She further thanked different organizations and Kenyans that have played a key role in providing medical services and donating blood to the injured protestors.
“I would like to thank Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority (KTTA), the medical fraternity including Medics For Kenya, Kenyan by Blood Foundation, my fellow blood ambassadors and many other teams for collaboratively donating blood needed during this period,” Charlene said.
Charlene Ruto Bashed Over Remarks on Blood Drive
The President’s daughter had earlier been blasted for appearing to take credit of the countrywide blood Drive
Charlene, who was appointed Kenya Blood Ambassador in December 2023, praised Kenyan medics for their efforts in a massive blood drive across the country in an Instagram post on Wednesday July 10.

Part of the congratulatory poster read, “Thank You Kenya! Together we made the blood drive a success.”
Many doctors, especially on X, immediately objected to her involvement, seeing it as an attempt to take credit for a success she wasn’t part of.
Popular X personality Dr. Salim Ishmael expressed his disapproval, simply writing, “We were not associated with Charlene Ruto. Thank you!”
Dr. Caroline Ngetich, another medical professional, also chimed in, saying, “Does she understand that people actually donated blood because her father’s regime killed and harmed innocent Kenyans? How can you now jump onto this conversation without shame? This is outrageous!”
Ruto’s Daughter Speaks on the Gen Z protests
On July 3, Charlene Ruto made a clear and firm statement regarding the events of June 25, condemning the “chaotic” protests.
She expressed deep concern over the recent lack of peace, emphasizing the urgent need for tranquility.
“Peace is something that has been far from us in recent days. It is something that we are praying for and leading the front in attaining as young people,” she said.
“This is why we stand against the particular protests that have shown no leadership from young people but rather a push from dark forces to create chaos in a country that we so love.”

Charlene stated that she recognizes the calls by the youth and congratulated them for taking a stand on the country’s current affairs.
She advised the youth to air their opinions with respect and honour and enhance peace as they make the calls and maintained that the government and the youth will find a solution to the issues raised.
“As a youth champion, I hear the cry of this generation and give my kudos that we not only care about current affairs but have a stand and are willing to raise our concerns,” she reaffirmed.
“This is a gamechanger. Let’s do it consistently, in an informed manner, with respect and honour. That is how we will be heard. May we dwell in unity, peace and liberty. A way will be made.”Â
