Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba and other CSs have published new appointments and reappointments to state boards, regulatory bodies, and university councils.
In a gazette notice issued on October 2, 2026, Ogamba made appointments to the councils of universities and university colleges, including that of Evelyne N. Kyendo, who will serve as a member of the Turkana University College Council for a three-year term.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36 (1) (d) of the Universities Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints Evelyne N. Kyendo to be a Member of the Council of the Turkana University College, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 2nd October, 2026,” read part of the statement.
Ogamba also appointed Wilson Kipruto Ronno to the Kenyatta University Council and Abdihakim Guhad Gabow to the Council of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology.
Lazarus Kipichii Tanui was appointed to the Machakos University Council, while Wilson Kipruto Ronno was appointed to the Kenyatta University Council.

The CS also appointed Abdihakim Guhad Gabow to serve on the Council of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, while Mercy Kanyara was appointed to the Council of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology for three years.
The appointment of Kanyara to the Machakos University Council was revoked in the same Gazette notice.
In addition, Julius Ogamba reappointed John Kamanga Ole Ntetiyian to the Council of Koitaleel Samoei University College for another three years.

Other Appointments
In the same gazette notice, Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui reappointed Neddy Jeruto Kiptoo as a member of the Anti-Counterfeit Authority Board for three years.
Cabinet Secretary for East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development Beatrice Askul Moe appointed Fardosa Ahmed Warsame Salah to the Board of the National Drought Management Authority for three years.
Further, Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eric Muriithi Mugaa appointed Josephine S. Koisaba as a member of the Water Services Regulatory Board.
Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya reappointed Lucia Nzoongo to the Board of the Kenya Film Commission for three years.
Co-operatives and MSMEs Development Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya also reappointed Jennifer Mwangangi to the Advisory Board of the Financial Inclusion Fund for three years.
At the same time, Chief Justice Martha Koome has appointed Charles Mwaniki Kamau as the National Community Service Orders Coordinator.

AG Oduor Extends Public Trustee Task Force Term
On her part, Attorney-General Dorcas Oduor has extended the term of the Task Force on the Incorporation and Institutional Transformation of the Public Trustee Department by three months.
The extension will run from October 12, 2026, to January 12, 2027. Oduor extended the task force’s term pursuant to Gazette Notice No. 8767 of 2026.
“It is notified for the general information of the public that the Attorney-General has, pursuant to paragraph 1 of Gazette Notice No. 8767 of 2026, extended the term of the Task Force on the Incorporation and Institutional Transformation of the Public Trustee Department, for a further period of three (3) months, with effect from the 12th October, 2026 to 12th January, 2027,” read part of the gazette notice.
