Kenya Kwanza Presidential Candidate Deputy President William Ruto has asked the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to select a new presidential aspirant to compete with him in the August 9 polls.
According to the deputy president, Raila Odinga has sensed defeat and is clearly retreating from the presidential race.
“Get a serious candidate who will face us in the election,” he said.
William Ruto further asked ODM leader to desist from threatening the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
“This is an independent institution; it cannot take instruction from any candidate or politician,” Ruto explained.
While speaking during his campaign rally on Thursday, July 7 in Marsabit County, the deputy president mentioned that that IEBC has the mandate and expertise to conduct free, fair and credible election.
“IEBC does not operate in an environment of coercion and ultimatums. If Raila is not ready, let Azimio get his replacement. As Kenya Kwanza, we are ready for the contest.” He added.
Furthermore, Ruto was accompanied by his team, MPs Aden Duale, Naomi Waqo, Ali Rasso, Kithure Kindiki, Ndindi Nyoro and Marsabit County political aspirants Kello Harsama, Steve Lenarokushu, Galma Baraka, Mohamed Chute, and Sunya Ore.
Likewise, Aden Duale criticized Mr. Odinga claiming the ODM leader is looking for escape routes instead of selling his agenda.

According to Duale, ODM has run out of ideas and is fast losing ground support.
“Kenyans refused to be blackmailed. The so-called Deep State and System has collapsed. Now they have no place to hide,” argued Duale.
Similarly, Kithure told off Raila, saying that threats will not make him president. He further expressed their readiness to face Azimio in the August Polls.
