U.S. President Donald Trump has issued fresh threats directed at the United Kingdom and other U.S. allies, stating that Washington “won’t be there to help you anymore.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump, while venting his frustration over close allies’ refusal to join military action against Iran, singled out the United Kingdom, claiming it had refused to take part in what he described as the “decapitation of Iran.”
Trump expressed his frustration with the United Kingdom for refusing to take part in U.S. and Israel’s military operations against Iran, as well as its reluctance to get involved in what would be highly dangerous efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping.

He lashed out at the UK and other countries, telling them to “go get your own oil” from the Strait of Hormuz.
“All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just take it,” Trump said.
“You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!”
The Strait of Hormuz passage has been almost completely shut by Iran, restricting global oil and gas supplies that are shipped through the strait and a number of tankers have been attacked by Iran during attempts to navigate the Iran-controlled sea route.
This comes after Prime Minister Keir Starmer has ruled out direct involvement of the UK troops in the ongoing Iran conflict.
According to the PM, the attacks on Iran and those by the Iranians on other states are not the concern of the UK.
The PM stated that the UK is taking defensive action to protect the British citizens and the allies of the UK in the war regions.
“This is not our war, and we’re not going to get drawn into it,” Starmer stated, as covered by the Al Jazeera English.

U.S. President Donald Trump renewed his criticism of the UK government over its response to the Iran conflict after Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said the country would not be drawn into the “wider war.”
Trump earlier in March said he was “not happy” with the UK, adding it “should be involved enthusiastically” in efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
He stated that there were “some countries that greatly disappointed me” before he singled out the UK, which he said had been considered the “Rolls-Royce of allies”.
Trump’s remarks came after Sir Keir said the UK was working with allies on a “viable, collective plan” to reopen the strait.
Sir Keir also said the UK already had minehunters in the region but there was no decision yet on what action would be taken.
