The Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC) has filed a law suit seeking to recover assets worth Ksh.1.94 billion which were questionably acquired by former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu in his capacity as County boss and former Kabete MP.
The anti-graft agency, claim that these assets were corruptly acquired and should therefore be reclaimed.
“This is part of ongoing recovery of public funds from several Governors suspected to have accumulated illicit wealth,” EACC stated.

Ferdidand Waititu who is currently battling corruption charges was impeached in 2020 on accusations of abuse of office and among other crimes.
Moreover, in 2019, Waititu, his wife Susan Wangari and two other suspects appeared before the anti-corruption Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi, over corruption charges in relation to irregular award of Sh588 million contracts for road repairs. They all deniedthe charges and pleaded not guilty.
