Several online users are claiming that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been arrested in the United States.
Despite widespread circulation of fake news cards and social media hashtags suggesting Gachagua’s detention is allegedly linked to tribal political unrest abroad, credible sources confirm Gachagua is not under arrest.
Gachagua is currently on a diaspora tour and was warmly received in Kansas City, Missouri, as of August 6, where he officially opened the Midwest chapter office of his party, the Democratic Change Party (DCP).

As of the time of publication, the Gachagua was last active on his Facebook page seven hours prior, where he discussed extrajudicial killings, a further indication that the arrest rumors lack any factual basis.
