Popular Legendary coast-based musician Ali Khamisi alias Ally B passed away on 1st of November 2023 at Makadara Hospital in Mombasa after a short illness.
The tragic news of Ally B’s passing sent shockwaves through Kenya, leaving many mourning the ‘Bembea’ hit maker.
As such, condolences have poured in from all corners as fans remember the talent and artistry, he brought to the music industry.
Ally B’s Last Moment
The news of Ally B’s passing was confirmed by his brother, Mohammed Ramadhan, who disclosed that the musician had returned home that fateful day feeling unwell in the afternoon, prompting an urgent trip to the hospital.

According to reports Ally B’s last moments saw him battle with pneumonia shortly before succumbing at 37 years old.

Moreover, the artist was previously diagnosed with Pneumonia and had just been discharged prior to his second visit to the hospital.
However, speculations of his sudden demise have taken various turns with some noting that he died due to high blood pressure.
Ali Khamisi Upbringing
Ally B, whose real name is Ali Khamisi Mwaliguli, was one of the biggest artists in Kenya in the early 2000s.
The legendary artist was born to Mwakaribu Khamisi and grew up alongside his brother, Mohammed Ramadhan.
Also, the singer who is widely known for the hit songs “Maria’ and ‘Bembea’ hit the airwaves for a decade before exiting the music scene in 2017.
Some of his other Songs include Maria, Mkufu Wangu, Kadzo, Naona Raha and Ziki La Nazi, among others.
Further, Ally B joined politics in 2017, and unsuccessfully vied for a ward representative post in Junda Ward in Kisauni, Mombasa County under a Jubilee Party ticket.
Politicians Mourn Ally B
Additionally, top government officials have mourned the legendary musician. President Wiliam Ruto via his official X account recalled Ally B’s type of music describing it as one inscribed with messages of peace.
“I join the music fraternity in mourning the passing of Ally B, a musician who harnessed his talent to foster unity and harmony in our society,” said Ruto.
Other top government officials who mourned the artist include National Assembly Speaker Amason Kingi, Eugene Wamalwa, and Mike Sonko.

Likewise, Prime Cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi while mourning Ally B identified ‘Kadzo’ as his favorite hit by the artist.
Nonetheless, Ally B leaves behind a rich musical legacy that will forever echo in the hearts of his fans and the artists he inspired.
