President William Ruto’s personal assistant and confidant Farouk Kibet gave Ksh1 million in cash during a fundraiser at Kurgung Boys High School in Nandi County.
Kibet presented his gift after delivering a speech during the event held on Saturday, February 24.
Farouk condemned leaders from the area for failing to support the institution asking Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to push for a law that make it mandatory for Governors to oversee the construction and development of high schools.
While governors were overseeing the construction of high schools, he proposed that it be made mandatory for Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to oversee the renovation and construction of primary schools.
“You are getting so much money but cannot support your community. It is these Kenyans who give us the opportunity to lead them. I know the deputy president can work with the president to make sure that there is a law that can be enforced about this,” he said.
Farouk had been appointed patrol of the school.

“Next month, I will call for a meeting to get to the root of this matter. We must find out why students in this country are not performing well.
“If the leadership of this school does not change how they operate in this school, they will have to leave this school and Mosop sub-county.
“Because it is embarrassing that this is home and this school is not performing yet I am the head of public service,” he said.
Koskei then gifted the school Ksh1 million in cash and added Ksh100,000 to the students for celebrations.
Other leaders at the event who contributed funds included Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang who gave Ksh100,000, and Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu who gave Ksh100,000 among other leaders.
