A Machakos man and his son who went missing for seven days were on Friday, January 24, found dead at City Mortuary, Nairobi.
Boniface Kyengo (51) and his son Peter Ngila (26) who hailed from Yatta, Machakos went missing on Friday, January 17, only for their lifeless bodies to be found at City Mortuary.
Peter Kimeu Lavu, the father of Kyengo from Kyumbuni village, said he received news of the deaths of his son and grandson on Friday.
“We were shocked to receive news that their bodies were found at City Mortuary and what we want is justice to be served,” Lavu said.
Missing Machakos Father, Son Found Dead in City Mortuary
The family has called for thorough investigations into the suspicious deaths.
Area MP Robert Ngui urged authorities to conduct speedy investigations and ensure justice is served.
Kenyans on social media expressed grief, with many urging the government to prioritize the safety of its citizens.
“The most painful thing is finding the lifeless body of your family member at the city mortuary… That pain is unbearable. May God give them strength,” said Edith Opati.

Sam Musembi added, “That’s a lot of pain for the family. Kenya has become so unsafe.”
On his part, Mutali Prestone remarked, “You might find that Kenya is the gateway to hell. So sad, the work of the police these days is to arrest the sick. Kenyans should do something. 2027 Please.”
Daniel Tepangura stated, “Police have killed millions of innocent Kenyans. They have become more than a pandemic.”
The news comes amidst a rise in cases of missing persons, casting a dark shadow over the country’s top police leadership. This has eroded public trust and raised serious concerns about accountability and justice.
Missing Mlolongo Four
Four Kenyans who were abducted in Mlolongo, Machakos County in December 2024 and have not either been seen or heard since then.
Stephen Mbisi Kavingu, Martin Zyuko Mwau, Kalani Mwema, and Justice Mutumwa disappeared on December 16 and 17 in quick succession under unclear circumstances.
Mutumwa, Zyuko, and Mwema were last seen by their friends at a local joint on the evening of December 15, 2024, where they appeared to be in a jovial mood.

According to their families, the three had left their homes on the morning of December 15, 2024, to attend to their respective businesses and workplaces but never returned.
Mbisi, 35, on the other hand, was last seen on the morning of December 17, 2024, before he was seized by four masked men from his house at Kathagaita area, according to his wife.
Police have since said they have no information on the whereabouts of the missing men, and they are investigating the incidents.
Inspector General of Police (IG) Kanja has in the span of days ignored three summons by two different judges on the same alongside DCI boss Amin Mohammed regarding the mysterious disappearance of the four men.
