Full List of KUCCPS Degree Courses Across 20 Clusters

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) groups degree programs into 20 clusters.

Some clusters have multiple programs, whereas others provide just a single course.

The cluster offering the most courses is Social Sciences, Media Studies, Fine Arts, Film, Animation, Graphics & Related, with 100 courses.

It is followed by Agriculture, Animal Health, Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, & Related with 86 courses. Engineering, Engineering Technology & Related comes next, offering 76 courses.

Other clusters with many courses include Business, Hospitality & Related (70), Education & Related (42), and Medicine, Health, Veterinary Medicine & Related (41).

General Science, Biological Sciences, Physics, Chemistry & Related offer 34 courses, while Actuarial Science, Accountancy, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics & Related have 32. Computing, IT & Related provides 27 courses.

Clusters with fewer courses include Architecture, Building Construction & Related (21), Religious Studies, Theology, Islamic Studies & Related (15), Geosciences & Related (16), and Agribusiness & Related (12).

Niche clusters such as Sport Science, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Textiles, History, Archaeology, Geography, French & German, and Music & Related offer 3-4 courses. Law has just 1 course.

Cluster One – Law – offers a Bachelor of Laws, with a minimum requirement of a B plain in English or Kiswahili.

Cluster 2 – Business, Hospitality & Related offers a wide range of degree programmes under 2A. Students can pursue a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, including a version with IT, as well as a Bachelor’s in Business and Office Management.

The cluster also includes the Bachelor of Business Management, with specializations in Marine Business Management and Civil Aviation Management, and the Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies with IT.

Degrees in Records Management and Information Technology, Co-operative Management,Secretarial Management and Administration, Co-operative Business, and Co-operative and Community Development are also offered.

Other programmes include Bachelor of Technology in Office Administration and Technology, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, and Entrepreneurship and Small Business.

The cluster further offers degrees in Procurement and Contract Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing & Supplies Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Procurement and Logistics Management.

Management-focused programmes include Bachelor of Science in Management Science, Strategic Management, International Business Management, Marketing with IT, and Co-operative and Entrepreneurship Management.

Information-focused degrees include Bachelor of Library & Information Science, Library and Information Studies, Information Sciences, Information Studies, Innovation Technology Management, Business Information Technology, and Business Information Systems.

More courses include Business Administration or with IT, Business and Office Management, and Business Management, with specializations in Marine Business Management and Civil Aviation Management.

Communication and media courses include Applied Communication, Communication and Media, Communication Studies, Communication and Journalism, Journalism and Mass Communication, Broadcast Journalism, Corporate Communication and Management, Media Science, Film Production and Animation, and Event and Convention Management.

Linguistics and language-focused programmes include Applied Linguistics, Language and Communication, Linguistics, Literature, Theatre Arts and Film Technology, and Translation and Interpretation.

Criminology and security courses include Criminology and Security Studies, Penology, Correction and Administration, Criminology, Criminal Justice and Public Safety, Peace Education, Conflict Resolution and Humanitarian Assistance, and Disaster Management and International Diplomacy.

Psychology and social work programmes include Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Social Work, Child Care and Protection, and Medical Social Work. Development and leadership courses include Development Studies, Community Development, Community Resource Management, Public Management and Development, Leadership and Philosophy, Gender and Development Studies, Gender Studies, and Disaster Risk Management and Sustainable Development.

Political and governance programmes include Political Science, Government and International Relations, International Relations and Diplomacy, and Developmental and Policy Studies.

Cluster 4 – Geosciences & Related offers Geomatic and Geospatial Information Systems, Geospatial Information Science and Remote Sensing, Geospatial Information Science with IT, and Geoinformation Technology.

Cluster 5 – Engineering, Engineering Technology & Related

Key courses include Aeronautical Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, and Chemical and Process Engineering. Students can also pursue Geophysics and Mineralogy, Earth Science with IT, Meteorology, and Astronomy and Astrophysics.

The cluster includes Geospatial Information Science, Geoinformation Technology, Geospatial Engineering, Spatial Management, Mining Physics, Geophysics, and Hydrology and Water Resources Management. Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical and Production Engineering, and Industrial and Textile Engineering are also offered.

Applied fields include Mechatronic Engineering, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Applied Bioengineering, Telecommunication and Information Engineering, Renewable Energy and Technology, Control and Instrumentation.

Cluster 10 – Actuarial Science, Accountancy, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics & Related has courses in Accountancy, Economics, Economics and Finance, Economics and Statistics, and Economics and Sociology.

Mathematics-focused programmes include Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Finance, Mathematics and Finance and Statistics, Applied Statistics with IT option, Industrial Mathematics, Mathematical Sciences with IT, and  Mathematics and Economics.

Other interdisciplinary courses in the cluster include Mathematics and Business Studies with IT, Actuarial Science with IT, and Financial Engineering and Operations Research.

Cluster 11 – Interior Design, Fashion Design, Textiles & Related includes Interior Design with IT; Textiles, Apparel Design, and Fashion Merchandising with IT; Apparel and Fashion Technology; Clothing, Textile, and Interior Design; as well as Fashion Design and Marketing.

Cluster 12 – Sport Science & Related offers Health Promotion and Sports Science, Exercise and Sport Science, Recreation and Sports Management, Sports Science and Management, and Sports Management.

Medicine Related Courses

Cluster 13 – Medicine, Health, Veterinary Medicine & Related

Programmes in this cluster span a wide range of health and medical fields.

They include Dental Surgery, Medicine and Surgery (M.B.Ch.B), Environmental Health, Environmental Health Sciences (Public Health), Optometry and Vision Sciences, Physical Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Public Health, including options with IT.

The cluster also offers Community and Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Clinical Medicine and Community Health, and Midwifery with Reproductive Health.

In addition, students can pursue Pharmacy, Nursing (including IT options), Nursing Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences with IT, and Medical Laboratory Science and Technology.

Other programmes include Occupational Therapy, Population Health, Community Health and Development, Community Health Education, Global Health and Emporiatrics, Health Systems Management, and Health Services Management.

Cluster 15-Agriculture, Animal Health, Food Science, Nutrition Dietetics, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources & Related

Programmes in this cluster cover a wide range of fields, including Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Processing Technology, Food Science and Technology, Food Science and Management, Food Security, and Food Technology and Quality Assurance.

The cluster also offers courses in Maritime Management, Applied Aquatic Science, Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology, Fisheries and Oceanography, Marine Resource Management, Coastal and Marine Resource Management, Marine Biology and Fisheries, and Fisheries and Aquaculture Management, including options with IT.

Cluster 17– French and German- The cluster offers Arts in French, including an option with IT, as well as Arts in German.

Cluster 18-Music & related. Programmes in this cluster include Arts in Music, Music with IT, Bachelor of  Music, and Music Technology.

Cluster 19-Education and Related offers 4Bachelor of Education (Science), with or without IT; Bachelor of Education (Arts), with or without IT; as well as programmes in Fine Arts, Guidance and Counselling, Home Economics, and German.

Other education programmes include Agricultural Education and Extension, Science in Agricultural Extension, Agriculture Education and Extension, Computer Studies, ICT, Agriculture, Home Science and Technology, Library Science, German, and Music, with options for IT.
