Various vehicles and spare parts abandoned at police stations and Motor stores across the country are set to be surrendered to auctioneers and destroyed.
In a gazette notice dated Friday, September 29, various auctioneers listed vehicles with their chassis numbers and owners, which are set for repossession.
At the same time, the owners of the vehicles were given 30 days to collect the vehicles or risk their destruction.
The vehicles, according to the auctioneers, have been abandoned at police stations, motor shops and garages across the country.
Further, the auctioneers stated that the move was pursuant to provisions of the Disposal of
Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) of the laws of Kenya.

Vehicles Abandoned Vehicles Within Nairobi
Astortion Auctioneers listed more than 29 vehicles that remained abandoned at the Kikuyu Police Station.
In addition, the auctioneer listed other spare parts and motorcycles that were set for destruction.
“Failure to which Astorion Auctioneers, Nairobi shall proceed to dispose of the said motor vehicles, motorcycles and scrap by way of public auction on behalf of Kikuyu Police Station if they remain uncollected or unclaimed,” stated the notice in part.
At the same time, Eastbound auctioneers gave notice for the collection of vehicles abandoned at Ryde Auto Garage off Kapiti Road in South B estate.
Moreover, the auctioneer stated that the vehicles would otherwise be repossessed and sold to the public.
“Failure to which the said motor vehicles will be sold either by public auction or private treaty and the proceeds of the sale shall be applied to defray any accrued storage charges,” stated the auctioneer.
On the other hand, Aztech auctioneers gave notice for the collection of vehicles abandoned at Top Job Motors, along Londiani Road in Industrial Area.
Again, the vehicles include a Nissan Murano, Toyota Allion, Volkswagen Golf and a Toyota Mark X among other machines.

Likewise, the same auctioneer called for the collection of a Toyota Land Cruiser Sagura Auto Spares in Syokimau.
GG Auto Garage in Garden Estate along Thika Road also granted the auctioneer permission to repossess the abandoned vehicles at their premises if uncollected within the following 30 days.
Sarwar Motor Spares in South B gave notice of disposing of uncollected vehicles including a Honda.
Cars Abandoned in Other Counties
Vehicles set to be repossessed and destroyed in other counties included Kilifi County where vehicles in containers remained abandoned.
The two containers, according to Alsonai enterprises, have accumulated a storage expense of Ksh2.9 million.
Furthermore, the owner of the containers was directed to collect the vehicles within 30 days, or they would be sold to the highest bidder or destroyed.
