Govt Announces 2-Day Deadline for Fully Funded Scholarships

The Government through the Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced fully funded scholarships for Kenyans in Bangladesh.

In a notice, the Ministry indicated that opportunities are open for international students to secure fully funded scholarships in prestigious colleges.

Further, the statement explained that the opportunities are open for medical and dental colleges for the 2024-2025 academic year.

“The Ministry of Health is in receipt of communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs regarding scholarships in medical fields from the Government of Bangladesh to be offered under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.”

“In this connection, they have announced admission for foreign students in Bangladesh Government Medical and Dental Colleges for the academic year 2024-2025,” the statement read in part.

Number of Scholarships Available

Communicated through Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs, the scholarships offer 221 reserved seats for foreign students across Bangladesh’s government institutions.

Among these, 117 seats are specifically allocated to students from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries, while 99 seats are designated for non-SAARC nations.

Kenya is a non-SAARC nation.

Additionally, five of these seats fall under Bangladesh’s coveted government scholarship program.

Applications are also open for private medical and dental colleges.

However, the final submission deadline is 15th January 2025, leaving just two days for interested candidates to prepare and submit their applications.

MoH Details How to Apply?

Interested candidates have been invited to apply through the Ministry of Health’s website. 

The scholarship covers studies in government institutions, while additional opportunities are available for private college admissions through a separate application process.

Applications for Government Medical or Dental Colleges must be submitted to the ministry 

Candidates are required to submit completed application forms, academic records, and relevant documentation to Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs by January 15, 2025.

However, for Non-Government Institutions, interested applicants have been directed to submit applications online via foreignstudents.dame.gov.bd/login before 15th March 2025.

Detailed lists of private institutions are included on the Ministry of Health’s website.
