Charlene Ruto, who recently assumed the role of blood ambassador on January 18, 2024, remains dedicated to her responsibilities behind the scenes, according to the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority (KTTA).
The clarification comes in response to public inquiries about Charlene’s absence during the call for blood donations after the Embakasi gas explosion on Thursday, February 1.
While other leaders urged citizens to donate blood, Charlene Ruto maintained a noticeable silence.
“Did anyone see Kenya’s blood ambassador anywhere mobilizing people to donate blood for the Embakasi tragedy?” a user on X Kulo Conrad wrote.
KTTA on Charlene’s Absence
Despite the silence from the First Daughter, KTTA assured that she is actively involved in executing her duties related to the blood ambassador position.
“A lot happens behind the curtains for effective service delivery and a healthier nation aligned with Universal Health Coverage,” the Authority stated.
