Risper Muthoni Maina, the house manager of the Airbnb located at Thika Road Mall (TRM) drive in Roysambu where a middle-aged woman was murdered, and body dismembered has narrated the harrowing last moments of the victim.
The House manager recalls that it was around 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 13 when they received a call from the customer asking for the room.

The customer, a man came and paid for the house and was issued with the keys.
Muthoni adds that in the morning of Sunday, January 14, she received information from the caretaker of the rental apartment noting that there was a blood-stained bedsheet and polythene bags on the staircase.

The caretaker made this shocking discovery while conducting a routine clean-up check after the guest’s exit the premises as is the norm.

This according to the house manager prompted them to inquire from the client.
“We knocked the door severally but there was no response, while opening the door, we found no one.
Upon entering the room, we did not see any sign that someone had been murdered in the room, but on the staircase, we saw something that looked like a body, so we decided to report to Kasarani Police Station,” she narrated.
Further, Muthoni noted who spoke to journalists noted that none of her room materials were used in committing the murder.
“Nothing from our house was used, the blood-stained towel is not ours., we use white towels but the one used at the scene was a blue one.
Shock to Residents in Roysambu
The incident has sent shockwaves among the neighbors as they grapple with the unsettling news at a time when such murders have recently hit the headlines.
Moreover, the connection between the room requests and the murder has raised questions about the safety and security measures in place at the lodging facility.
This comes barely a week after police arrested John Matara, a suspected serial offender believed to have killed socialite Starlet Wahu inside an Airbnb in Soth B Nairobi.

Warning to Tenants
Jimmy Kimari, the head of Kasarani Divisional Criminal Investigations (DCI) issued a strong caution at the scene, signaling forthcoming crackdowns on Airbnb operators who lack security cameras as he emphasized the importance of maintaining comprehensive guest records.
According to the police incident report, the body parts were found on Sunday morning stuffed in a trash collection point of the Green House Apartment House within Roysambu.
The Woman was Chopped into Pieces
The police suspect the unknown man murdered the middle-aged woman by chopping her into pieces then stuffed the remains of her body into polythene bags which they disposed of in the dustbin.
“The CCTV footage displays the suspect wearing a black jeans trouser, black jumper, navy blue shirt, specks and a white cap'” the police said.
As the investigation unfolds, the identity and potential motives for the crime remain shrouded in mystery.
