Philip Mwaura, a Pastor at Mamlak Hill Chapel has left Kenyans laughing after he narrated how joining Alliance High School Alumni WhatsApp group fulfilled his childhood dream.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, November 24, Mwaura recalled how he yearned to join Alliance during his days in primary school.
“Reflecting on KCPE results, I remember my dream High School was Alliance High Sch, and I filled in those application forms months ahead boldly for I was sure I would attain the necessary grades. But as fate (or better, brains) would have it, I didn’t manage to get a seat in that school,” he said.
Further, the Pastor who is also a digital content creator said he joined Loreto School Nakuru alma mater in Nakuru (city).
Here he mentioned that the only uniting factor with Alliance was their green sweater, which when it faded looked almost similar to that of his dream school.
“I must have been Alliance’s first distance learning student as I revised all their papers and mocks in preparation for the National Exam. Needless to say, I passed although the colors weren’t flying but rather faded like my greenish sweater,” he stated.
Additionally, he added that he tried befriending Alliance students with no success.
Joining Alliance WhatsApp Group
Besides, Pastor Mwaura said he was elated when he met some college-mates who were of “I went to Alliance” vibe.
“But the Lord, who takes away the reproach and shame granted that I be added mysteriously to a WhatsApp group of Alliance alumni. I am still in there,” he said.
Funnily, he states that he has never sent a message to that WhatsApp ever since he was added seven years ago.

“It’s been 7 years now of pure intellectual bliss, though I have never commented on a thing all through those years in that group,” he revealed.
In addition, he said that he was shocked at the WhatsApp group members hefty contributions to impromptu social welfare projects even in the current taxation and plummeting dollar era.
“Though I have never contributed a dime (because one requires the Old boys’ School number), I take pride that in a recent capital campaign, our year emerged among the top contributors,” he added.

Post Reactions
Nonetheless, this post by Pastor Mwaura attracted reactions from a section of Facebook users who praised him for his sense of humor.
A user named Nelson Mburu said Pastor Mwaura should have joined Starehe Boys because of his humor quotient.
“Can I add you to our Starehe group. We don’t have many contributions. I promise,” said Mburu.
“Mention your Alma Mater Passy Philip Mwaura Loreto Nakuru School our green matched with that of Alliance greening completely. Your humor,” said Wangari Wa Runnoh.
Furthermore, Julius Irungu asked Pastor Mwaura not to reveal a lot of information since he will risk being removed from the WhatsApp group.
