Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has declared what it called a “national decision” to enforce an end to hostilities against what it referred to as “the Zionist enemy.”
In a statement on June 24, 2025, the council also warned that Iranian forces remain on high alert and ready to deliver a decisive response to any future attacks.
According to the statement, Tehran’s actions were measured and timely, aimed at defending its sovereignty following attacks on Iranian territory.
However, Iran’s military has stated it will remain vigilant and prepared to retaliate if necessary, citing continued distrust of enemy declarations.
The council claimed the offensive forced its adversaries to back down and halt their aggression.
Additionally, it credited Iran’s Supreme Leader and the armed forces for what it called a strategic victory that forced the enemy into retreat and a unilateral halt of hostilities.
Iranian Media Deny Missile Strikes
At the same time, on Tuesday, May 24, Iranian state-affiliated media outlets denied reports that Iran launched missiles at Israel following the implementation of a ceasefire between the two sides.
“The news that Iran fired missiles at the occupied territories after imposing a ceasefire on the Zionist regime is denied,” the semi-official ISNA news agency reported on its Telegram channel.
The denial was reported by Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB and the semi-official ISNA news agency.
This came after Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz accused Tehran of violating the truce and ordered intensified military strikes against Iran.
The Israel Defence Forces stated it would respond decisively to what it described as a serious breach of the ceasefire by the Iranian regime.
