Judiciary decries underfunding
The Judiciary has previously decried financial constraints owing to budget cuts in the annual budget allocation.
In November 2024, the Chief Justice Martha Koome stated that the budget constraints impede service delivery in the judiciary, adding that the funding has gone down by nearly 50 per cent in the past three years.
“We are doing our very best with very little resources to the judiciary to see to it that every year, although we celebrate these gains, we recognize the pressing need for further investment. The judiciary continues to face funding challenges owing to historic underfunding in the justice sector,” said Koome.
