Philanthropist and Kikuyu musician Karangu Muraya on Wednesday, January 23, helped to raise over Ksh1 million to clear a hospital bill for Peter Miracle Baby who had been admitted in a Kiambu hospital.
Karangu visited Miracle Baby and her spouse Carol Mbuthia on Thursday in the ward where the former TV host is admitted.
As is his custom, Karangu invited his followers on social media to send their contributions towards settling Miracle Baby’s bill while holding a live session.
As soon as the musician shared Carol Mbuthia’s number, contributions from well-wishers started streaming in.
At the time, Karangu announced that the bill was at Ksh1,020,000 accumulated throughout the period Peter had been admitted.
He at intervals announced some of the contributions as they came in, including from some prominent radio presenters and politicians.
Among the notable names mentioned in the session include that of Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria and popular comedian and radio presenter Ngoni wa Thuita.
About two hours into the session, Karangu announced that the drive was only Ksh137,000 short of hitting the one million mark.
Karangu also took some minutes to demonstrate the life Miracle Baby had been subjected to in the ward after having gone through several surgeries.

Karangu Muraya Reveals Outcome of his Fundraiser
Later on, Thursday, January 24, the popular musician and content creator confirmed that the fundraiser was successful and that they managed to clear Peter’s bill.
“Last night was a great moment for our brother Peter Miracle Baby who has been admitted to a hospital in Kiambu,’ Karangu said in the statement.
“As per yesterday, his bill was over one million and by the grace of God, we were able to clear it all…. May Jehovah bless you all for supporting him and may our brother receive total recovery.:
In his statement, Karangu also urged well-wishers to continue supporting Peter Miracle Baby through his wife’s number to cater for other medical expenses.

Peter Miracle Baby, popularly known for his role in the “Sailors Gang” music group, was rushed to a hospital after his intestines ruptured in his continued battle with a gastrointestinal condition.
In a statement, Peter’s wife confirmed that he had to go through a surgery after the rupture but was bed-ridden and had to use a pipe for egestion.
“Hi guys the surgery was success, but the intestines had burst, and they have managed to wash but he will be going to the toilet through a pipe,” Carol Katrue wrote.
The news about Miracle baby’s illness then went viral with well-wishers including fellow musicians and artists in the entertainment industry volunteering to offer support.
