Kenya Airways has suspended its repatriation flight to and from Dubai following security guidance from Dubai Airport authorities.
In a statement on March 6, the Kenya Airways noted that the decision affected the scheduled repatriation flight, and the national carrier apologized to customers for the inconvenience.
“We wish to inform our customers that we have suspended today’s (March 6, 2026) repatriation flight to and from Dubai following security guidance from Dubai Airport authorities,” read part of the statement.
In the statement, Kenya Airways emphasized that the safety of its crew and passengers remains its top priority, and the suspension was taken as a precautionary measure.
The airline is urging affected travelers to check their flight status on the Kenya Airways website and ensure their contact information is updated under the Manage Booking section to receive direct notifications.
Passengers needing more details have also been advised to contact the Kenya–United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consulate for additional information while the airline works to resolve the situation.

Earlier Confirmation Limited Repatriation Flights
Earlier the same day, Kenya Airways told customers it would continue operating special repatriation flights between Nairobi and Dubai, provided that Dubai Airport granted slot approvals.
The airline explained that these were not normal scheduled flights, but limited emergency flights allowed by UAE authorities as Dubai International Airport slowly reopened under tight security.
“Per guidance from Dubai authorities, only passengers with valid documents who are ending their journey in Dubai or leaving Dubai can travel,” the Authority had stated.
Customers were also reminded that only passengers with valid travel documents who were ending their journey in Dubai or leaving Dubai were allowed to travel. People already in Dubai were advised not to go to the airport until Kenya Airways contacted them directly with their exact departure time.

Why Kenya Airways Suspended the Dubai Flight
The Authority has suspended its repatriation flight to and from Dubai because of rising safety concerns linked to the ongoing Israel–Iran conflict, which has created major security risks across the Middle East.
Recent missile attacks, retaliatory strikes, and airspace disruptions around the Gulf region forced UAE authorities to tighten airport security and temporarily restrict flights at Dubai International Airport. With the situation changing rapidly and regional airspace becoming unpredictable, Dubai Airport officials issued fresh safety guidance on March 6, 2026, prompting Kenya Airways to suspend the flight as a precaution to protect passengers and crew.
This conflict-related instability has already caused several airlines to delay or suspend operations, and Kenya Airways says it will resume normal flights only once Dubai authorities confirm the airspace is safe again.
