Several top-performing Kikuyu creators and artists won awards in the 2026 Kenya Crown Awards held at Spur Mall in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
The awards were presented on July 9 to exceptional talents in Kikuyu music, digital creation, radio, and the entertainment industry.
According to the organizers, the event aimed to recognize outstanding artists, creators, and personalities who have consistently delivered excellence and earned the love of their fans.
DJ Category Winners
Among the awarded artists and creators, DJ MacJOJ was recognized as the best male Kikuyu DJ after garnering 322,440 votes in the voting process.
DJ MacJOJ is known for his Kikuyu entertainment and Mugithi scene performances, as well as his audience engagement.
DJ JACY was awarded for being the winner of the best female Kikuyu DJ category, while DJ RYIO won the best Kalenjin DJ.
The Best Rising DJ award was given to DJ Mo-Angel Ke Official, commonly known as DJ MO, who was trained by DJ Neville early in his career.
The rising DJ had a breakthrough after participating in the Pilsner Mfalme DJ competition and co-hosted Crossover 101 on NTV. In 2010, he was awarded the Groove Award for Best Gospel DJ.

Best Artists and Songs
In the Best Female Mugithi Artist category, Wanja Asali, known for her top-performing Kikuyu secular music, won the award.
90k Kamsoo, who has been active in the music industry, was awarded the Best Male Mugithi Artist during the event.
At the same event, Katempa, whose career started in the early 2020s, was named the best urban male Mugithi artist.
In the best rising artist category, Jimmy Ramon 254 got the recognition.
Further, in the Best Kikuyu Cultural Festival 2026 category, the Kikuyu Festival won the award, while Hasira 44 emerged as the Kalenjin Best Hit Song.

Kenya Crown Awards 2026 MC and Digital Creators
Luciana Creatives was named Digital Influencer of the Year and Best Female Digital Creator at the Kenya Crown Awards 2026.
Best Hype MC title was awarded to MC Kasper Mwenyewe, while MC Gikarati won the award for Best Kikuyu Corporate MC.
MC Selector Joash was recognized as the Best Kalenjin MC.
Best Kikuyu Digital Vloggers award was given to Kururia TV. At the same time, Githua Man was the winner in the Best Kikuyu Digital Creator category, while Jeff Kuria Podcast emerged the winner in the Best Kikuyu Podcast category.
Best Rising Male Kikuyu Digital Creator category named Warakeri Mama Wacuka as the winner, while Gatonye wa Mbugua was named the best male Kikuyu radio presenter during the Kenya Crown Awards 2026.
