“Rainfall is set to continue across the Nairobi Metropolitan area, as shown in the latest 24-hour forecast maps,” the Kenya Met statement read.
The forecast indicates that several areas will experience moderate rainfall, with localised heavy downpours expected in parts of Westlands and nearby areas.
“Several areas are likely to experience moderate rainfall, with localised pockets of heavier rainfall, especially over parts of Westlands and surrounding areas,” it said.
Kenya Met further advised Nairobi residents to expect showers during both daytime and nighttime hours, warning of isolated heavy rainfall events in some locations.
Low-lying and poorly drained areas may experience waterlogging during the advisory period.

The KMD has also shared safety measures for Kenyans to observe during the heavy downpour and those who will be affected.
According to the Kenya Meteorological Department, rainfall exceeding 20 millimetres within 24 hours has been recorded in several areas, and it is expected to continue from February 25 to February 28, 2026.
The weatherman noted that the rain may also spread into parts of Northeastern Kenya during this period.
Further, he cautioned that flooding may occur even in areas that have not experienced heavy rain, especially in downstream areas where water flows from higher ground.
Urban centres, low-lying settlements, and regions near rivers are considered particularly vulnerable.
While heavy rains are expected to continue in the short term, forecasters say a gradual reduction in intensity is likely from March 1, 2026, in some parts of the country.
