Activist, blogger and social media influencer Hanifa Farsafi on Sunday, December 10 took to her official X account to denote the details of the blaze that engulfed her parent’s home on Saturday December 9.
While informing her followers of the unfortunate incident, Hanifa revealed that she had just finished renovating the house, further expressing how bad she felt when it went ablaze.
“My parents’ house burnt down. Literally everything to the ground. We’ve accepted it as Allah’s will,” Hanifa stated, attracting the attention of many Kenyan netizens. Further, the activist expressed frustration, noting that the burnt down house had just been renovated.
“This house has served us for over 15 years I actually finished renovating it a bit on Friday wallah. At some moment I whined to Allah why these things happen and I’m not as strong as He thinks I am,” she posted, citing some of the prayers she had made.
However, fortunately, Hanifa revealed that no one had been hurt by the fire.
Further, on her social media, she posted images of the charred remains of various items. She also said important documents such as her degree certificates had not been spared by the inferno.
“Are degree certificates replaceable?” she posed.
However, she noted that in a previous trip, her father had carried away the title deed documents from the house, sparing the family from further losses.

One X user, Yasinwal Quran was among the people who pointed that Hanifa’s work was the reason for the unfortunate incident.
“She is denying it but we know the arson was politically motivated,” he posted in response to Hanifa’ s announcement of the blaze.
“Hakuna Shida kabisa the perpetrators will be answerable to Allah,” he further noted, urging Kenyan to contribute into a kitty to help the activist.
This is loosely translated to, “There is no problem, the perpetrators will be answerable to Allah,”
Hanifa, aware of this, cited that it was a gas and electricity accident, urging Kenyans to avoid politicizing the unfortunate happenings.
“It genuinely was an accident not arson. Gas and electricity accident and since the house was made of wood it spread like wildfire,” the blogger noted, further stating that the blaze was a humbling and traumatizing experience and had taken her family back materially.
She further gave the details of where she had been before the news of the fire at her family house got to her.
“I was at a cleanup and got a call that our house was burning down and started shaking instantly. By the time I’m home everything was burnt to ashes,” Hanifa stated earning sympathy from many.
Nevertheless, the blogger also noted that the family was trying to rebuild and pick up the broken pieces.
