Kenyan journalists Enock Sikolia and Pauline Nasimiyu have been feted for their outstanding storytelling prowess.
Enock Sikolia a seasoned journalist who has worked with CGTN Africa, Citizen TV and NTV emerged top while Pauline Nasimiyu of KBC was third.
The Shared Future photography and video contest had 400 participants who showcased their skills in various categories.
Moreover, the contest organized by the Chinese Embassy sought to mark 60 years of Kenya-China diplomatic relations alongside the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The event characterized the Third Edition of the Chinese Embassy shared future Awards.
The competition is held annually with a focus on journalists telling stories based on the Kenya, China bilateral relations.
While receiving the wards for the best video, Enock Sikolia said his story on Chinese projects in Kenya was inspired by Kenyans growing interest in development stories.
Sikolia’s winning video was a description of the development of the China -Funded Nairobi Expressway and how it has changed Kenyans lives, Nairobi’s landscape and transportation within the capital.

On her part, Pauline expressed her gratitude on receiving the award highlighting on her growth as a journalist while impacting other people’s lives through storytelling.

The award ceremony, which was held at the University of Nairobi, was graced by senior officials, diplomats, scholars and students.
More than 300 visual images and videos were submitted depicting the vitality of Sino-Kenyan cooperation across various fields, including infrastructure development, people-to-people exchanges, trade and skills transfer.
A team of judges drawn from media houses from Kenya and China reviewed the submitted works and shortlisted 30 pieces that were outstanding in highlighting milestones achieved courtesy of 60 years of Kenya-China diplomatic ties.
