Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani IChung’wah has been put on the spot for allegedly dishing out Teachers Service Commission (TSC) employment letters to favourites.
Taking to social media, Mumias East MP Peter Salasya accused Ichung’wah of failing to give him TSC letters.

“Ichung’wa you refused to give me TSC letters, go and sit on the minority side. Today I am the heckler in the corner of Parliament,” stated Salasya.
MPs accused of giving letters to constituents
MPs have been accused of enabling political infiltration of TSC, an institution that is supposed to work independently.

In 2023, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osori stated that he had been given one hundred TSC appointment letters for his constituency.
In the recent past, there were allegations linking a member of parliament from Kuresoi. The MP was being accused of involvement in a fraudulent scheme that involved fake TSC employment letters.

A person who linked himself to the MP as a personal assistant collected over KSh 500,000 from unsuspecting Kenyans, promising employment letters. The PA was supposed to get the letters through his connection to the MP.
In Western Kenya, another MP was heard boasting of his achievements and among them was being able to issue fifty TSC employment letters. He also added that he had fifty more to issue in 2024.
Machogu accused of giving TSC letters in Kisii
In a viral video on social media, another MP from West Pokot County was spotted giving out fifteen letters to his constituents.
The former Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu came under fire in 2024, after issuing a TCS letter at a funeral. He gave the letter as a show of sympathy to the family of the deceased.

The CS had also been accused of dishing these letters during his tours in the Kisii region. He however refuted the claims stating that they are false.
“I want to set the record straight that the mandate of hiring teachers is bestowed on the Teachers Service Commission and not for me. The stories are made up on social media and circulated are untrue,” stated Machogu.
