King Charles III sent a heartwarming message to President William Ruto and Kenyans as the country celebrates the 60th Jamhuri Day.Â
In a statement released by United Kingdom Embassy in Kenya, the monarch congratulated Ruto and Kenyans for the significant sixty years of independence adding that he looks forward to a strong bilateral partnership.
“Dear Mr President, I would like to send my heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency, and the people of the Republic of Kenya on Jamhuri Day, which is particularly significant this year as you mark sixty years since Independence,” he said in a statement.

At the same time, the King while acknowledging Kenya’s shared interest with the United Kingdom also noted his continued support to Kenya as a member of the commonwealth.

“I look forward to the continuing warm friendship and the strong and close partnership between our two countries, including as members of the Commonwealth, in this special year of the tenth anniversary of the Commonwealth Charter,” read the statement in part.
Additionally, the King took the opportunity to thank the President for the warm welcome and hospitality during his and Queen Consort Camilla’s visit to Kenya in November 2023.
“I also extend my deepest gratitude once again for the warm welcome and kind hospitality my wife and i received from you and the Kenyan people when we visited the country in November,” said King Charles III.

Likewise, King Charles II noted that his Kenyan visit demonstrated the vital importance of the UK-Kenya partnership and ambitions to strengthen it further in the months and years to come.
While wishing Kenyans happy festivities, he also lauded that his administration would join hands with Kenya in promoting climate change and tackling biodiversity loss.
“As we face these challenging times, our work together for prosperity, peace and democracy, and above all to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss, is all the more important. As you, and Kenyans everywhere, celebrate today, my wife joins me in sending you our warmest good wishes for the year ahead,” said King Charles III.

King Charles III Kenyan Visit
The King and Queen Camilla made a four-day trip to Kenya marking his first state visit to a Commonwealth country as King.
At the time, during their visit, the King and Queen explored Nairobi City County, Mombasa County, and surrounding areas.
Notably, the monarch made the historic visits with a program that reflected on the collaborative efforts of Kenya and the United Kingdom in areas such as mutual prosperity, climate change mitigation, youth opportunity and employment promotion, sustainable development, and regional stability.

Worth noting, 60 years ago, on December 12, 1963, Kenya attained her independence from the British, before becoming a republic in 1964. Â
