The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a three-day traffic disruption along Jogoo Road and Nyasa Road.
In a notice dated Monday, July 14, 2025, the Authority stated that the disruption will begin at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, and end at 11:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21.
“Kenya Urban Roads Authority seeks to inform the general public of a temporary traffic disruption along Jogoo Road and Nyasa Road from 10:00 p.m. on Friday, 18th July 2025 to 11:00 p.m. on Monday, 21st July 2025,” the notice read in part.
KURA Announces Traffic Disruption Along Jogoo Road.
According to KURA, the disruption is necessary to facilitate culvert installation works.
The Authority further advised motorists to exercise caution when approaching the affected sections and to observe all road signs provided.
Police officers and traffic marshals will be deployed to the site to help manage traffic flow during the period.
KURA also issued an apology for any inconvenience caused by the temporary changes:
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused as we continue to transform urban mobility,” the notice stated.
Nairobi Expressway Section Temporarily Closed for Overpass Construction
Meanwhile, sections of the Nairobi Expressway have also been temporarily closed for 24 hours, following a notice from Moja Expressway, the company managing the road.
In a public announcement issued on Saturday, July 12, 2025, the company stated that some sections would be closed beginning midnight on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
“Please note that some sections of the Nairobi Expressway will be temporarily closed throughout Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 12:00 a.m.,” the notice read.

Moja Expressway explained that the closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of a pedestrian overpass at Syokimau.
Normal traffic is expected to resume at midnight on Monday, July 14, 2025.
The company advised CBD-bound motorists using the Mlolongo and Syokimau entrances to exit at the SGR Interchange and re-enter via the SGR entrance. Mlolongo-bound motorists were advised to use the JKIA exit.
Travellers were urged to plan their journeys accordingly, as the closure is likely to cause a significant impact on traffic flow.
