The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a 16-day traffic disruption along Likoni Road due to ongoing road rehabilitation works.
The affected section stretches from BAT Industries to the Jogoo Road junction and will experience delays from October 15 to October 31, 2025.
In an official traffic alert, KURA urged motorists to seek alternative routes during the period, recommending Lunga Lunga, Outer Ring, Enterprise, and Lusaka roads to ease congestion and minimize inconvenience.
“Likoni Road (BAT Industries–Jogoo Rd Junction) to experience delays from 15th to 31st October 2025 due to road rehabilitation works,” the statement read.
“Kindly use alternative routes”
The roadworks form part of a broader infrastructure improvement project in Nairobi as the city grapples with rapid urban growth and increasing traffic volumes.
Road Closures This Month
The Likoni Road disruption is the latest in a series of roadworks affecting Nairobi this October, as national and urban authorities accelerate infrastructure improvements across the city.

Just a day earlier, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) issued a public notice regarding the temporary closure of service lanes along the Thika Superhighway (A2) at Kihunguro.
The works, which will impact both Nairobi-bound and Thika-bound traffic, are scheduled to run from Monday, October 20 to Saturday, December 20, 2025.
According to KeNHA, the closure will allow for the construction of foundation structures and support columns for the new Kihunguro footbridge, a project aimed at improving pedestrian safety and easing vehicle flow in the high-traffic corridor.
“We ask road users to remain patient and follow directions from traffic marshals during this period,” the authority said in a statement.
KeNHA also had earlier announced a 22-day closure of the Njoro–Mau Summit (B129) Road to allow for major pavement reconstruction works aimed at improving road safety and travel efficiency.
In a public notice dated October 9, 2025, KeNHA said the road will be closed from Thursday, October 16, to Thursday, November 6, 2025, to facilitate the works.
The closure point, according to the notice, “is about 1 km past the Keringet Factory and 2 km before Molo Town.”
Jamuhuri Road was closed last weekend by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) to facilitate the installation of new drainage and sewer systems.
The upgrades are part of the Talanta Sports City infrastructure project, which includes modern stadiums, recreational parks, and improved road access around the Jamuhuri area.
