Public Service, Delivery and Performance Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has indicated that his work is being sabotaged by individuals he did not name.
However, Kuria said in a Thursday, February 29 statement that no amount of sabotage could stop him.
His statement was followed by a subsequent notice from the public service office announcing that he would be holding an important press conference on Friday. May 1, at 11am.
Although Kuria did not detail the reason for the conference, speculations online have claimed that it is a reaction President William Ruto’s intention to reshuffle the cabinet again.
“The Cabinet Secretary for public service, Delivery and Performance Management Hon. Moses Kuria invites your media house for an important press conference tomorrow, Friday 1st March 2024 in his official office at Harambee house. A very important announcement will be made,” the notice read in part.

Cabinet Reshuffle Speculations
Kuria’s allegations received different responses from users on X, some demanding that he exposes the names of those sabotaging him, while others hitting back at him.
Other users told him that he deserved what was coming for him, while others empathized with the CS saying that he had done a good job in streamlining the National Youth Service (NYS).
At the same time, other users claimed that the CS must have learnt that he would be affected by the looming cabinet reshuffle.
“What is going on here and who is sabotaging you, give us names, it is a safe place,” a user Kachwanya questioned.
“Is he resigning?” Engineer Watata added. “He can resign without the dramatics,” Steve Comrades said.
On the other hand, some Kenyans roped in Attorney General Justin Muturi in the reshuffle rumors after reports indicated that he had warned the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) boss Humphrey Wattanga against deducting Housing Levy after court squashed it.
“Some people are pushing the tag for ‘Cabinet Reshuffle’ because Justin Muturi is doing his job? Why do you guys take President Ruto as King, that his word is final?” We should be governed by rule of law, “Collins Lautani said.
Earlier on November 8, 2023, during an interview with a local media, Kuria asserted that he was not afraid of losing his position in cabinet.
He said that he had been out of public service for decades and as such, he saw no big deal in leaving the government.

Ruto’s First Reshuffle
In October 2023, President William Ruto reshuffled the cabinet, moving Kuria from the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry to the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.
Although many opined that the move was a demotion, the CS has maintained that he would execute his job excellently like he did in the previous docket.
However, he said that he had many enemies and would not be bothered by political bickering.
“I have a lot of enemies. If you were being bothered when I was in one Ministry how about now when I’m coordinating all ministries? I have no time for political bickering I will bring the same spirit in the Ministry of Public Service.
“I will not work from my office; my office will be in the grassroots. You will see me in every corner of this country to monitor the delivery of services and development projects,’ he said after the move.
The reshuffle followed public bickering between Kuria and deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over the high cost of living.
Kuria had in September 2023 indicated that the cost of fuel would continue to rise asking Kenyans who were complaining of the high cost of living to drill their own wells.
Gachagua hit back at the CS, calling him out for his sentiments. He then cautioned all state appointees against addressing Kenyans with arrogance.
