Protests have continued to be witnessed in some parts of the country even after President William Ruto said he would not sign the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
The demonstrations have now entered the third week with the protestors citing the issue at hand as the rejection of President William Ruto’s administration as a whole.

On July 2, protests saw Police firing tear gas at protesters in Nairobi as many businesses remained closed for fear of looting.

5:32 pm: Tense atmosphere as irate residents chant #RutoMustGo while demanding justice for 12-year-old Kennedy Onyango allegedly killed by police officers in Ongata Rongaion on Thursday June 27 during the anti-government protests.

The residents were carrying Onyango’s caskets screaming while protesting peacefully on the road.
2:42 pm: Protesters in Emali town have looted a supermarket associated with an ally of President Ruto. They later marched to a nearby hotel, where they forcefully gained entry and consumed everything.
1: 36 pm: Protestors have blocked the Nairobi-Mombasa Road at Emali town, Makueni County causing Traffic disruptions. Numerous motorists and passengers plying the route were left stranded with no movement for hours.
1: 16pm: Police battle with anti-government protesters along Homa Bay- Rongo road.
12:52 pm: Mavueni youth in Kilifi County begin protests by burning Tyres on the road. They also seen carrying placards and walking on the road.
11:56 am: Demonstrators in Homabay County have paralyzed transport along the Homa Bay-Rongo Road by barricading it with stones and garbage collector’s container.
10:00 am: Calm scenes observed along major roads leading to the Nairobi CBD, footage seen shows no activity along Thika Road as well as Ngong Road with no movement disrupted.
