Public service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has bowed out of the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry accepting the reshuffle made by President William Ruto.
In a statement released on Saturday, October 7, titled ‘My Tenure at the Ministry, 11 Months and 6 Days,’ the CS listed 12 achievements in his stint in the docket.
Kuria stated that he was leaving the ministry of trade with his head held high accepting his new responsibilities in the public service docket.
“With my head high, I move on to new responsibilities. Long live Kenya,” the statement read in part.
Kiria’s List of Achievements under MITI
The first achievement the CS noted was the implementation of exports and investments promotion levy. According to him, the levy was meant to discourage unnecessary imports into the country.
Secondly, he stated that he was leaving behind a legacy of introducing a pipeline of 26 mega deals from the Gulf region and Indonesia.
His third achievement was the successful negotiation of investment of Ksh450 million from Afriemix Bank in E- Mobility, special economic zones and export processing zones.
Additionally, the CS is bowing out of office proud to have successfully pushed to ensure Kenya joins the Pan African Payment and Settlement System.
At the same time, Kuria stated that it was under his leadership that the government finalized the economic partnership agreement with the European Union (EU).

Additional Achievements Listed by Kuria
Moreover, the Public Service CS stated that he was able to meet with 12 African Heads of State to push for unification of the East African Community (EAC), Southern African Development Community (SADC) and The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), under the Tripartite Free Trade Agreement.
Kuria also stated that he hosted the African Continental Free Trade Area Trade Ministers Council on two occasions in the same year. His eighth achievement was launching County Aggregation and Industrial Parks
The CS is also bowing out of proud to have initiated the implementation of a Warehouse Receipt System and Commodities Exchange to inter-connect the 47 County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPS) and linking them to Export Markets.

Finally, he noted that he initiated the creation of a Kenya International Trade Agency to open Commercial Offices globally to promote Kenya exports outside the bureaucracy of Kenya Embassies.
Ruto Reshuffles Cabinet
On October 4, President William Ruto reshuffled cabinet. The changes affected several cabinet secretaries including Moses Kuria, and Alfred Mutua.
In response to the news, Kuria took to social media posting three plain links to Kikuyu gospel songs on his timeline.
He then addressed the matter on October 5, maintaining that he has no time for political bickering and vowed to shift focus on his new role.
