Comedian David Oyando popularly known as Mulamwah has revealed that he has saved a total of Ksh. 1 million in 2024.
The comedian divulged that he hit this by saving Kshs. 3,000 per day for a year, having started on December 15, 2023.
He made the announcement on his Instagram platform encouraging his followers to begin saving with the little amount they have in the coming year.
“God is great Kshs. 3000 per day savings challenge completed for 2024, started 15th December last year kuweka pole pole tu. Umeweka ngapi? kama hujaweka tuanze wote for next year. Haijalishi ni how much ata 20, 50, 100, 1k per day (saving slowly by slowly. If you have not started, we can start together next year. It doesn’t matter how much even Kshs.20, Kshs.50, Kshs.100 or Kshs. 1000 per day is okay,) said the comedian.
Mulamwah encourages his followers to save
He also urged his followers to embrace the culture of saving while hinting that he would use the cash to buy a piece of land.
“Try to save cash because it will always save you back. wacha tuongeze kaploti sasa (let us add a plot of land now) wale tulianza pamoja last year ikiwa wewe mita utafanyia (those of you whom we began together, what will you do with Kshs. 1 million?” added Mulamwah.
Mulamwah posted an image of his savings account that indicated his savings account balance was at Kshs. 1,102,219.

Mulamwah took a similar challenge in 2023 where he saved Ksh1,000 daily. In a video shared in December 2023, Mulamwah joined other Kenyans and broke his home bank to reveal his savings.
“Kshs100 daily for 365 days, tuanze wote next year sasa, inawezekana, cheza ki wewe,” he wrote.
This translates to ‘Kshs 1000 daily for 365 days, let us start next year again, it is very possible’.

How he saved Kshs. 365,000 in a year
While sitting outside a mud-thatched house, he broke a small, wooded box and then poured the notes onto the floor. The savings consisted of banknotes ranging from Kshs 50 to Kshs 1000.

He brought all the money into the house, where his lover, Ruth, and a relative were, and asked them to count their savings, which amounted to Kshs. 365 000.
“We are opening our 2023 savings. Last year, we agreed to start together, and here we are. I took on the KSh 1,000 daily challenge, and now I have Ksh 365,000,” he said.
Born in 1993, Mulamwah, pursued a career in nursing before transitioning to comedy. Beyond comedy, he is a social media influencer with significant brand endorsements, together with his fiancé Ruth K.
