Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has urged police officers returning from the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, now operating under the Gang Suppression Force (GSF), not to invest in marrying a second wife.
Speaking during the reception ceremony for 230 officers from the Mission held at Embakasi A Campus, Murkomen commended the officers for their discipline, integrity, and respect for the dignity of the people, declaring them heroes.
“So you are heroes and being a hero comes with power and so you must be able to control power and if you don’t control power you’ll get home and power will tell you this money you’ve earned, however little, how moderate, and you’ve earned in dollars that for you to feel it well, you need a second wife,” said Murkomen.
He also encouraged the officers not to invest in betting or other vices, giving the example of his grandfather, who, after the Second World War, bought valuables that he kept and cherished until his 80s.
