Moja Expressway Company has announced temporary disruption of services on a section of the Nairobi Expressway at Mlolongo, Syokimau and SGR Toll stations.
Irate demonstrators vandalized the infrastructure along the road on Wednesday, 12th July 2023.
The purpose of the closure of the 3 Toll Stations is to allow the company to restore the road to its original state and beef up security before resumption of operations.

In addition, Moja Expressway urged motorists plying the Westlands-Mlolongo route to exit from JKIA.
For those traveling from Mlolongo to Westlands you can join the Nairobi Expressway from JKIA Toll Station.
According to the notice, the company will announce the reopening of the stations in due course.
CS Condemns Vandalism
Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen asked the Office of the Director of Criminal Investigation and the Inspector General of Police to take action against organizers of the protests.
Furthermore, Murkomen condemned the acts of vandalism and destruction of public of public property.
According to the CS, the damages on the Expressway could cost over Ksh.706 million, adding.
He noted that protesters had also destroyed other important installations including three railway stations.
“We witnessed planned attacks on key infrastructure with protesters going for materials they could sell,” he said.

CS Murkomen faulted the opposition stating that destruction of property is not a legal way to deal with political matters adding that it was an act of terrorism meant to spread fear among Kenyans.
“Those who plan to hold other protests will face the wrath of the law, the President and the Cabinet will ensure such behavior ends,” he said.
Earlier on Thursday, July 13, Trade CS Moses Kuria revealed that illegal squatters vandalized sections of the road, protesting against the government’s move.
