A woman who was held hostage by three Nigerian nationals is now safe after police in Nairobi saved her.
According to a report seen by The Kenya Times, the woman visited the three on Monday, March 20 for a business deal only for the Nigerians to turn against her.
Police say the woman was held captive at an apartment in Nairobi’s Utawala estate when her phone and other belongings were confiscated.

The foreigners then proceeded to con her friends and family for money by sending them distress messages using her phone.
When she was handed back her phone, the lady allegedly sent a message to a human rights activist identified as James Kamau who made a police report at Timau Police station.
“I am in danger, save me, I came to see a Nigerian client at Utawala and they have held me, hostage, since morning,” the message from the lady to the human rights activist read in part.
After James filed the report at Limuru Police station, the officers informed their Nairobi counterparts who swung into action.
“They want money from her. Is there anyone who can help? I have the contacts of the one client whom she knows. I’ve called her phone number, and it’s indeed off,” James said in a statement.
In order to make it easy for the officers to rescue her, the lady shared who had been supplying mitumba items to the foreigners shared photos of her whereabouts and location with James through her Facebook handle.
She also shared the phone number of one of the foreigners but asked James not to call the number so that they may not be alarmed.
The trio were arrested and upon investigation, police found that their passports had expired meaning the three were in the country illegally.
The lady has since been taken to hospital for medical attention. Police say she exhibited signs of assault and trauma.
