Nakuru County Announces 34 Job Vacancies in Various Departments

The Nakuru County Public Service Board (NCPSB) has announced several vacancies in the county’s public service. 

In a notice published on Thursday, December 4, NCPSB said the vacancies once filled will revamp public service delivery in health, finance, engineering, and municipal operations.

“This recruitment is a strategic step toward enhancing service efficiency and addressing critical staffing shortages in our devolved units,” said Dr. Elias Maina, Chairperson of the NCPSB.

The NCPSB is inviting applications only from qualified Kenyan citizens for roles across Job Groups H to Q.

These include specialized medical positions such as Dermatologist and Anaesthesiologist, advertised under Advert No. 04/2025; administrative roles in the Gilgil Municipality, published under Advert No. 05/2025; and technical posts in transport and engineering, placed under Advert No. 06/2025.

The job vacancies will be in the form of permanent, pensionable, and contract opportunities.

“We encourage eligible professionals, especially those with hands-on experience in public health and local governance, to apply promptly. Nakuru County remains committed to merit-based hiring free from nepotism or undue influence,” Maina said.

Health sector vacancies

A total of 25 job slots are advertised under Advert number 04/2025 to support health services.

They include:

  • Medical Specialist I-Anaesthesiology, CPSB 04 (Job Group “Q”) (One (1) Position)
  • Medical Specialist I-Dermatology, CPSB 04 [Job Group ‘Q’) (One (1) Position) -Advert 09/2025/02
  • Medical Officer CPSB 07 (Job Group ‘M’] [One (1) Position) 
  • Dental Officer, CPSB 07 (Job Group ‘M’) (One (1) Position)
  • Assistant Public Health Officer III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (Five (5) Positions)
  • Community Oral Health Officer III CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (Two (2) Positions) 
  • Occupational Therapist III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (One (1) Position) 
  • Therapy Radiographer CPSB 10 (Job Group ‘K’) (Eight (8) Positions 
  • Radiographer III, CPSB 11 [Job Group ‘H’) (Four (4) Positions)
  • Dental Technologist III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (One (1) Position)
  • Medical Engineering Technologist III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) [One (1) Position) 
  • Orthopaedic Trauma Technologist III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (Two (2) Positions)
  • Pharmaceutical Technologist III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (Two (2) Positions)
  • Ambulance Driver III, CPSB 15 (Job Group ‘D’) (Four (4) Positions)
  • Mortuary Attendant III, CPSB 15 (Job Group ‘D’) (Six (6) Positions)
  • Cook III, CPSB 14 (Job Group ‘E’) (Seven (7) Positions)
  • Hospitality Officer II CPSB 10 (Job Group ‘J’) (Two (2) Positions)
  • Medical Social Worker III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (One (1) Position)
  • Registered Clinical Officer III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) [Four (4) Positions)
  • Registered Nurse III CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (Thirty-four (34) Positions)
  • Nutrition And Dietetics Technologist III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (One (1) Position)
  • Assistant Physiotherapist III CPSB 11 [Job Group ‘H’) (Two (2) Positions)
  • Assistant Health Records and Information Management Officer III, CPSB 11 Job (Group ‘H’] [Four (4) Positions]
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist III, CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) (Ten (10) Positions)
  • Health Administrative Officer I, CPSB 10 (Job Group ‘l’) (Five (5) Positions)

Gilgil Municipality vacancies

In addition, the CSPB advertised seven administrative vacancies in the Gilgil municipal offices. 

  • Clerical Officer CPSB 13 Job Group ‘F’ (Two (2) Positions)
  • Support Staff CPSB 15 Job Group ‘D’ (Two (2) Positions) 
  • Administration Officer II CPSB 10 (Job Group ”) (One (1) Position) 
  • Office Administrative Assistant III CPSB 11 (Job Group ‘H’) [One (1) Position)
  • Driver III CPSB 15 (Job Group ‘D’) (Two (2), Positions)
  • Information and Communication Technology Officer CPSB 09 (Job Group ‘K’) (One (1) Position)
  • Human Resource Management Officer II CPSB 10 (Job Group ‘l’) (One (1) Position)
  • Assistant Engineer II (Structural) CPSB 09 (Job Group ‘K’) (One (1) Position) 

Department of Transport and Engineering

Two positions have been advertised under advert number 06/2025 to fill the position of transport department officer.

Requirements

The job descriptions also align with educational requirements, including degrees in medicine, engineering, or administration, or relevant diplomas, and at least 3 years of experience for senior roles.

Salaries are set to range from KSh 26,900–55,000 monthly for entry-to-mid-level posts, with higher scales expected for specialists.

How to apply and deadlines

The NCPSB board has indicated that all interested candidates must submit applications virtually through the Nakuru County Government portal at www.nakuru.go.ke/careers.

After logging in, applicants will be expected to complete an NCPSB Form 2 available on the site, attach an updated CV, and provide copies of academic certificates and all professional registrations, such as with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.

The application deadline is before 5:00 PM on December 24, 2025.

“Hand-delivered or emailed applications will not be accepted to ensure transparency,” read part of the board guidelines.

The board has issued a stern warning against bribery and any form of corruption, stating that such actions will lead to automatic disqualification.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via official channels.
