Kenya’s candidate for the Africa Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson seat Raila Odinga has launched a website for his candidacy to succeed outgoing chairman Chadian Moussa Faki.
The website was unveiled at State House Nairobi during the official launch of Kenya’s AUC bid presided over by President William Ruto and other East African Heads of State.
Entailed on the website’s home page are Odinga’s Vision and Priorities that he is set to undertake once he is elected as the new AUC chair.
“I envision a united Africa characterized by peace, prosperity, and sustainable progress for all. We must harness our vast human and natural resources and integrate the energy of our youth with the vision and wisdom of our leaders. As a lifelong Pan-Africanist, I will offer participatory leadership to ensure delivery on the priorities of the African peoples as envisioned in the African Union Agenda 2063,” reads the vision.
According to the website, his priorities include economic transformation, enhancing intra-African trade, financial independence, gender equality, and climate action.
Peace and Security, Agricultural Transformation, and Continental Integration are also listed among Odinga’s priorities should he clinch the AUC chairperson position.
